1952S The Ethicon SURGICEL® Absorbable Hemostat (1952S) is a sterile, single-use hemostatic dressing made from oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC). It is designed for adjunctive surgical hemostasis to assist in the control of capillary, venous, and small arterial bleeding when standard ligation or cautery methods are not practical. This loose-knit hemostatic fabric provides rapid bleeding control in continuous oozing situations and conforms easily to irregular surfaces. Fully absorbable within 7–14 days, SURGICEL® supports a clean operative field and reliable wound healing. It is ready to use directly from the package, requires no preparation, and offers a five-year shelf life under standard storage conditions.
