1978 The Ethicon SURGIFOAM® Absorbable Gelatin Powder (1978) is a sterile, porcine-derived gelatin hemostatic agent designed for adjunctive control of capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding when conventional methods such as pressure or ligation are insufficient. This ready-to-use hemostatic powder can be applied directly to bleeding surfaces or combined with sterile saline to form a paste. It promotes effective clot formation in cases of continuous oozing, providing rapid hemostasis and full absorption within 4–6 weeks. SURGIFOAM® Gelatin Powder is suitable for a wide range of surgical procedures (except ophthalmic use), offering flexibility and reliability in the operating room.
