2991 SURGIFLO® Hemostatic Matrix (2991) from ETHICON is a sterile, absorbable flowable gelatin matrix designed for adjunctive hemostasis during surgical procedures. Supplied in an 8 mL configuration, the product is intended for control of bleeding in areas that may be difficult to access using traditional hemostatic techniques. The matrix is composed of porcine gelatin and is designed to be mixed with sterile saline or thrombin solution immediately prior to use. Once prepared, the flowable consistency allows the material to conform to irregular surgical surfaces and cavities where bleeding control is required.
