RR650 Sinu-Foam (RR650) is a dissolvable post-operative nasal dressing (intranasal splint) from Smith & Nephew intended to support healing after nasal or sinus procedures. It helps reduce post-op bleeding and edema and helps prevent adhesions inside the nasal cavity. The product starts as a dry carboxyethyl cellulose (CMC) fiber contained in a syringe. When properly mixed with sterile water, the CMC forms a viscous foam that conforms to nasal and sinus cavities during placement. Once applied, it creates a moist hydrocolloid physical barrier and gradually dissolves over several days, eliminating the need for removal in many post-op care workflows.
